confession

i am so quirky. i thought you needed to know.

1) every time someone mentions the word 'jump', automatically my mind starts singing "jump on it! jump on it!"

2) i love having my toe nails painted.

3) caribou coffee is one of my hot spots. the barista knows my order before i walk in the door.

4) i fear my earrings being ripped out. ouch.

5) i have a lot of ghetto talk running through my head most of the time.

6) my brain is normally 5 steps ahead of where i actually am. it is a little much at times.

7) i really enjoy having coffee with friends. i enjoy coffee...but more importantly it is about who i am sharing it with.

that is enough to share with you now.

this time next week, i will be sun-kissed with my toes in the sand. i.can't.wait.

japan

my heart breaks for the people of japan.

i have just stopped several times over the past few days just lifting up the country in prayer.

i pray that people are able to see the glory and might of the Lord in all the distress.

i read this story on cnn tonight and was shocked. this man was swept 9 miles out in the ocean and clinging to anything he could find...and is still alive! amazing.

psalm 71:3

"be to me a rock of refuge,

to which i may continually come;

you have give the command to save me,

for you are my rock and my fortress."

pray for the people of japan to come to the Lord as their rock of refuge.

a plunger and a little elbow grease

i know what you are thinking, 'amber, you needed a plunger? really?'

but trust me. it is not what you think when you hear the word 'plunger'.

for several weeks, the drain in my shower has been moving at a very slow pace. i had asked the rental company what they wanted me to do and i was told to use drano(which by the way, i haven't heard many good things about). so i tried it. and it didn't work the first time. so i tired it again. still, no such luck. at this point i didn't want to get another bottle of drano and i knew that my rental company would do NOTHING about it, so i just started talkin' to the ol' roomie(who is oh so smart, by the way). and she suggested...you ready for it...a plunger. yep, that's right. a plunger. i plunged the drain for about 10 minutes and then BAM! it started workin' and drainin'.

so go ahead, take the plunge and help a drain out will ya?

cousins

something humorous happened to my aunt the other day involving the youngest in our family.

i thought i would brighten your day and share it with you.

"riley has had fever for the last two days and was supposedly lying in my bed watching a movie. i go in to check on him to discover that he has lipstick, powder and eyeshadow all over his face and he looks me square in the eye and says, 'mom, i have NOT been in your make-up drawer.' "

seriously? who can get mad with this stud?

he sure does brighten our days and provides us with lots of laughs.

love thy neighbor

here in a few days is the LOVE day of the year.

my church is hosting a day to love thy neighbor. with that comes making valentines! this afternoon my roommate and i were hangin' out with some of the coolest kids i know and decided to make some valentines to hand out to the residents.
