saving the world...

...one plastic bag at a time.

so i understand that in a lot of places throughout the world, people are starting to throw in the towel to plastic bags. i know while grocery shopping, here it is difficult to get plastic shoppings bags from the cashier. you get dirty looks for asking for more bags(either the dirty look is because you asked for more bags or you didn't pay in EXACT change, take your pick and sometimes both).

so if you can't beat them, why not join them. i am now the proud owner of a reusable bag. i am not sure of the material it is made of but i am very excited to be sporting the look.

but i will tell you what i am not very excited about sporting. it would be the AFRO that i have on my head! would you look at that. i am not sure where that came from. i am 24 years old, and i am letting myself go! i think this is a cry for help.

but come this friday at 11am, polish time, i will be getting my hair trimmed! this is a big deal for me. i have not had to get my hair trimmed at a polish salon before. if we go back to time, you might remember that on day 1 of my arriving in poland, i fried my hair! i mean, there was steam and it smelled awful. so all of last year, jessica did my trimming. and when i was at home for Christmas i went to a professional who i could speak to in my native tongue.

but i decided i need to buck up and get this done. i will be returning to the states for a graduation/wedding in may, and this will give my hair plenty of time to grow back out if some thing tragic happens.

in the mean time if you have suggestions for the afro puff, let me know! until then, i will be trying to save the world, one plastic bag at a time.

Good for you! For both. Tell the lady to cut just a little bit but expect to come out of there with a shaved head. That way you are happy with anything more than a shaved head. Ha-ha. I'm sure it will be fine.

I see Lance & Amanda are on board too with the reusable bags concept. Your generation is off to a good start with the green concepts. Keep the momentum going through things like alternative fuels or technologies for cars, and maybe recycling old mobile phones/ipod/computing type devices!

Amber, you are beautiful. You do not have a poof. I could poof it up for you though if you want. :)

Thought this was way cool (woohoo for interactive news!) :P and it made me think of you and this post.

Looks like the U.S. might be trying to go European?
