people of the world

so here is a picture of a field. i know, many of you know what a field looks like.  but my brother should really know what this field is. when my family came for the visit last summer it was rather rainy(ha!  it isn't just in the summer that it is rainy!).  but the vehicle we were using got stuck in the mud.  we all got out except the driver while dad and lance pushed from behind.  well, lance lost his balance and fell behind the vehicle only to bounce right back up!  there was not evidence of mud on him surprisingly.  so i had to take a picture for lance.

but at this place, the germans(meaning hitler) wanted to build a canal from the baltic to this area of poland.  they got part of the way but never finished.  so now it is a tourist sight!

i don't even know what all of these pictures are.  i just take them!

kind of crazy that the germans advanced this far before being stopped.

i am not sure many of you know but after the russians kicked out the germans in world war II, the russians took over poland.  and didn't make life any better for them.  it was until late 80's or early 90's that poland became a republic.  and away from control of any country.

later this week we are hoping(if the weather cooperates) to go to the hel peninsula.  yes, hel is said the way you think it should be.  this peninsula sticks out in the balic sea and we will be camping there.  i will take pictures of hel and report them back to you once we return!
